	NRC is the World's largest manufacturer of heavy duty sport bike engine covers! With over sixteen years experience in engine cover design and production, NRC chose to cast covers. Here are just a few reasons why: Manufactured under stringent ISO 9002 quality control standards, cast alloy grain flow follows each particular cover's contour, further aiding to its strength through design and increased section thickness. "Wrought" (billet) alloy tends to have a linear grain only, and its mechanical properties become unstable in thicker stock, resulting in reduced resistance to stress cracking and corrosion. Cast covers are absolutely the least expensive way to mass produce, and yields the least amount of scrap after finish machining. Billet cover machining require considerably more time than cast, and the majority of the billet stock goes to scrap. When you consider it takes a 8"x8"x3" piece of billet stock, weighing close to 19lb., to make a typical late model sport bike alternator cover weighing less than 2lbs., 17lbs. of billet material, and the time it took to machine it, goes to scrap! NRC has committed hundreds of thousands of dollars in design, investment molds, fixtures, tooling and full state of the art CNC equipment to produce the finest heavy duty engine covers possible. Our numbers speak for themselves by just checking out any racetrack and what racers chose to use. You can spend a lot more money for billet engine covers, but why would you?
